They let our servers recognize your browser between page loads, remember choices like dark-mode or your home base, and measure how the platform performs over slow truck-stop Wi-Fi. We also use closely related technologies such as local storage, session storage, and pixel tags; in this policy, the word "cookies" covers all of them.
We use cookies for three reasons: to keep your account secure and logged in, to understand which features actually help drivers connect, and to honor preferences you have already set. We do not sell cookie data, and we do not place advertising cookies that follow you across unrelated websites.
Essential cookies are required for the site to work. Everything else - analytics and preferences - is optional and controlled by you from your browser settings or your TruckerMatch account.

Required for the platform to function - keeping you signed in, securing your session against CSRF attacks, remembering items in flight (like a partly written message), and load-balancing across servers. Lifespan: session or up to 30 days. Cannot be disabled without breaking core features.
Aggregated, anonymized usage data - which pages load slowly on cellular networks, which features drivers actually open, where new members drop off in registration. Lifespan: up to 13 months. Optional; you can opt out without losing any functionality.
Remember choices you set - dark or light theme, units (miles vs kilometers), preferred route view, dismissed banners, and language. Lifespan: up to 12 months. Optional; disabling them means re-setting your preferences each visit.

A small number of cookies on TruckerMatch are set by trusted vendors who help us operate the platform. We vet every partner for security standards and contractual data-processing terms, and we never share your route, messages, or contact details with them.
We do not use cross-site advertising cookies, retargeting pixels, or data brokers. If we add any new third-party cookie partner, we will update this policy and prompt existing users in-app.
You stay in control of optional cookies at all times. Use any of the methods below - the changes apply immediately.
Blocking all cookies will sign you out, disable Route Matching, and prevent voice-note replies. If you want a clean compromise, accept Essential only and reject Analytics and Preference - the core dating features still work.
TruckerMatch follows the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), the UK GDPR, and the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) as amended by the CPRA. That means three things in practice: we ask for opt-in consent before setting any non-essential cookie, we provide a clear way to withdraw consent that is as easy as giving it, and California residents can exercise their "Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information" right at any time - though we already do not sell cookie data.
